About the event

TEDxYouth@VSA is an event organized by the students of Vidyashilp Academy, Bangalore through a license granted by TED.TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. The talks are called TED talks and are then made available to watch on TED.com

Our theme for the year is Jigsaw.

Life is often compared to a jigsaw - fragments of a picture waiting to be completed. Life's challenges and obstacles are like the scattered jigsaw pieces, each representing the ambiguity of one's story. Sometimes, we lose the pieces of the puzzle and need help in finding them, and other times we just do not have all the pieces to complete the puzzle. It is only when we begin to make connections between the things that may have previously seemed unrelated to us; we begin to notice patterns. Finally, as slowly as the jigsaw takes shape, the different parts of our lives start coming together to form a sensible picture. This year, TEDxYouth@VSA invites you to be the jigsaw piece that completes someone's story.

In the words of Conrad Veidt, "So now it is time to disassemble the parts of the jigsaw puzzle or to piece another one together, for I find that, having come to the end of my story, my life is just beginning."

Why should you sponsor?

As students of Vidyashilp Academy, we believe that education is power, and the spread of this knowledge is the duty of every human being. This is why we are taking an initiative to host an independently organized, student-led TEDx event at our school (TEDxYouth@VSA) that is tentatively scheduled on 15th February.

As the young minds of our youth, this initiative pushes us to reveal the works of hidden artists by giving them a global platform. This won’t be possible without your support. We believe that your sponsorship can provide us an opportunity to strengthen our hand in making this event have a significant impact on the global platform. 

TEDxYouth VSA

I am Priyanka Raghunathan from Vidyashilp Academy, Bangalore. I study in class 12 and am would describe myself as a MUN-ner, debater, animal lover, environmentalist, and an overall curious person. My thirst for knowledge inspired me to organize a TEDx event in my school. I have been working on acquiring the license for the event for the past 3 months. 

Now that we have gotten the license, we need companies with similar interests to make this event a success by taking it to global platforms. Knowledge is power and I believe it is the duty of human beings to spread it. I have always lived my life trying to do my part to the community and try to make the world and better and an intellectual place to live in.
