About the event

With the aim to manifest creativity and foster new ideas, TEDxYouth@Gachibowli brings together passionate individuals of our young community from across the city to share and listen to inspiring ideas with their peers.  
 
TED is a non-profit organisation that brings the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share their ideas, which revolutionise people’s minds and ways of thinking. It began in 1984 as a conference to bring people together from three different areas: Technology, Entertainment and Design. Today, the idea of TED has catalysed into a global initiative and forum to present new findings, insightful theories and as the motto suggests, “Ideas Worth Spreading.”  
 
The theme of our event this year is “Breaking Moulds and Shattering Ceilings.” In reference to the current scenario our world finds itself in, we find ourselves immersed in unorthodox, myth-busting ideas and possibilities repeatedly. 
 
A rousing voice for changes in the way we live, act and conform as human beings has paved the way for many new ideas and thought-provoking insights amongst today’s youth. We believe that this theme will bring out the best ideas and incite some new perspectives amongst its attendees. 
 
Those attending TEDxYouth@Gachibowli will be sure to undergo an enriching and holistic learning experience as they listen to diverse range of speakers presenting their thoughts under our theme. The goal of our event is to empower the youth of Hyderabad to become better leaders of tomorrow. They will leave inspired to use their passions and talents to create a brighter future!

Vinay Kanigicherla

I am a junior at Oakridge International School, studying Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science at a Higher Level in the IB Diploma Program. I love to learn, am an absolute technology geek, an avid programmer, and can often found learning about creating software using Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Primarily, I believe that I have excellent organizational skills and productivity, due to which I am extremely aware of all of the facets of event organization and meet deadlines and expectations while simultaneously being able to communicate and coordinate with the others in the organizing team for TEDxYouth@Gachibowli. Productivity is also key as in order to successfully organize an event of this scale in the given time period, work must be completed rapidly and efficiently yet accurately at the same time. I believe that I am extremely well suited for this task, primarily due to the fact that I have served in similar positions in numerous other events as well.  Additionally, I also continue to excel and work well under pressure and am able to critically think and solve problems which could potentially occur during the event. Due to the same, I believe that I am extremely trustworthy and can be counted on by the sponsors to ensure that the event is a success. Being extremely passionate about debate and public speaking, I firmly believe that TEDxYouth provides a truly unique and special platform, and can't wait to hear the youth speakers voicing their immensely significant opinions and ideas about our world today through the same.
