About the event

TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a nonprofit organization that aims to share "ideas worth spreading." Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown in its "mission" through multiple initiatives. Past personalities such as Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elisabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nanda Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Stephen Hawking, Isabell Allende and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown participated in TED conferences.

In the spirit of sharing "ideas worth spreading," TED has launched a local events program called TEDx (where "x" indicates an event organized independently), which aims to make live locally a experience similar to the one you live by attending a TED conference. They are non-profit events organized by people for the community. Sponsors and ticket prices are used to cover the construction costs.

Frascati, in the heart of the Castelli Romani, represents a unicum for its history, the important Research Centers, the Villas and the food and wine culture. TEDxFrascati was born precisely to spread ideas able to enhance this enormous human and cultural heritage by creating connections between different sectors. TEDxFrascati will make you live the TED conference experience in a unique environment and in a location rich in history.

I am the principal organizer of TEDx Frascati. I am a university professor in experimental physics.
