Tease and Tassel Fundraising Event in Honour of the Charity CoppaFeel
Sponsorship offer for the event Tease and Tassel taking place March 4th 2015 at the Up the Creek Comedy Club in Greenwich.
Tease and Tassel is a fundraising event taking place on Wednesday 4th March 2015 which is four days prior to international women’s day, which ties in with the fact that the event will focus on female empowerment. The evening will be a celebration of female attributes with an array of vintage cabaret and burlesque performers alongside Swing Jazz and Rockabilly acts. Due to the style of performers the programme has a vintage theme that is planned to be running through-out the entire event.
Tease and Tassel will be held in the suitable venue, Up The Creek Comedy Club in Greenwich, as this venue is accessible for the target audience of University of Greenwich female and male students between the ages of 18-30. The venue is also located next to a number of transport links and parking facilities. The décor is very similar to a cabaret or burlesque club from the use of red and black colour scheme and the red velvet curtains on the stage, making it an ideal location.
About CoppaFeel
CoppaFeel is the charity which the event Tease and Tassel will be in aid of. The charity was set up five years ago by a brave 23 year old woman called Kris who at the time had just discovered she had stage 4 breast cancer. Although Kris is still battling Breast Cancer, only she and five other full time members of the CoppaFeel team have dedicate all their time to raising awareness of breast cancer amongst young women, in the hope to prevent others experiencing the tragic reality of being diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
CoppaFeel is unlike most Breast Cancer awareness charities, it uses exciting, creative and innovative ways of engaging with their target audience of young people. These techniques include activities based around getting people to talk in confidence about how their boobs feel and what is normal for individuals to make symptoms easier to spot. The charity also has a large network of volunteers around the UK with groups such as Boobettes and Uni Boob Teams to help spread awareness.
CoppaFeel is a cause that is relevant with both us as young event managers and our event target audience (18-30 year old men and women) this makes a clear link between the theme and the charity. Programming burlesque performances have been placed on the programme to break down the social barrier around nudity, this will hopefully help people to realise that copping a feel for breast cancer is normal!
Our Mission
With the help of CoppaFeel, Volunteers, University of Greenwich students, The Students Union, Performers, Sponsors, Gifts in kind and VIP Guests, Tease and Tassel will strive to be an exciting Burlesque and Cabaret evening, for young people and people affected by breast cancer, and in turn will endeavour to Fund Raise by donating all profits made by the event and to educate 200 young people for CoppaFeel in an entertaining and inspiring manner.
Our Vision
Tease and Tassel aims to help CoppaFeel raise funds and awareness of breast cancer, educate young people on breast cancer symptoms, and make every effort for positive media coverage to result in annual repeat events which will increase in popularity with each consecutive year.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Due to fact that we are full time students at the Greenwich University, we are only supplied a small amount of funding from the University which is £100, which is to cover the cost of the venue hire for the evening of the event. The funding for the tickets which will be sold at £10 each and we aim to sell up to 250 tickets, which will all go towards the charity and the decorations. Therefore possible areas which will require funding for the event will be the entertainment and marketing costs. We aim to book a range classic and modern rock and roll and swing jazz acts to accompany the burlesque and cabaret entertainers.
