Football games without tailgating are like ... football games without footballs. Half the fun comes from the eating and drinking before kickoff and after the final whistle.
To celebrate the start of the 2015 college and pro football seasons, the Tampa Bay Sports Commission will put host its second annual Tampa Bay’s Tailgate Taste Fest on Saturday October 3rd at Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa.
Tampa Bay’s Tailgate Taste Fest is the ultimate football kickoff party – it’s a food competition as local restaurants battle it out to win the hearts of the Tampa Bay community. Similar to “Wing Bowls” in other cities and located in the heart of Downtown Tampa, the event is destined to become an annual Tampa Bay tradition that signifies another great season on the gridiron and on the grill for local fans.
Expected participation of 30 local restaurants and vendors, drawing in over 5,000 people in attendance.
The event will take place on October 3rd at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa, FL.
The event starts at 3pm and ends at 9pm. Admission prices start at $20, which includes five food samples from vendors. Additional sample wristbands can be purchased online or at the fest for $15. For more information on tickets, including exclusive VIP package options, as well as updates on vendors, entertainment and special guests, please visit TailgateTasteFest.com.
The festival layout will offer four different zones based on type of tailgate food- chicken, ribs, sliders, and side plates. Entertainment and family-friendly games will be featured throughout the event.
“Our community has a genuine passion for big events, football and food,” said Rob Higgins, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. “We feel Tampa Bay’s Tailgate Taste Fest can become an annual Bay area tradition signifying another exciting football and tailgate season for fans and restaurants.”
