About the event
Collaborative performance of poetry, art and dance on the theme of love, life and landscapes. An interpretation of the the debut book of poetry, Letters to the Lady by George Lamptey.
Letters to the Lady is a volume of 50 poems by George Lamptey that explores love, opportunity, beautiful imagery and landscape. This event is about bringing these words to life through compelling oratory skills, dance and fine art.
If features actor George Lamptey who has appeared off west-end in lead roles in a variety of plays. He trained in Santa Monica and London. His unique approach to work involves looking to produce something different and go beyond the norm.
Nara Walker is a fine artist who hails from Australia and is a recent finalist in the Ruth Borchard self-portrait competition. In her words 'The body reacts to the touch of another, as does my work. Like a kiss to the back of the knee or a finger brushing up against the inside thigh. Each mark I make influences another. My body becomes the reactor between the surface and the medium. Evoking strokes, gestures and movement, responding to the pleasures of creating and leaving my artist mark."
Natasha Hubert is a dance and vocal artist from Brighton. Credits include: Southbank Centre commission with Music Off Canvas for Festival of Britain and Elgar Room- Royal Albert Hall, Love Beyond Musical premiere at the Brighton Centre, Playing the lead role of Kathy Selden in musical Singin’ In The Rain at Emporium Theatre, Brighton, Lead vocalist and dancer for Peel Talent on the Thomson Majesty Cruise Ship and Choreographer for original musical Out of Place with Cardona Productions at York New Musical Festival.
The event will be held at the private members club, The LIBRARY on St Martins Lane on 23rd September.
We are particularly looking for sponsors who would like to provide unique Canapes in return for being added to the official flyer and also access to the event for 3 executives. The canapes will be distributed by the LIBRARY staff and the company will have the option to have mini flyers on their brand in the bar.
