May is Ultraviolet (UV) Awareness Month!

Ultraviolet Awareness Month is sponsored by Prevent Blindness America to increase awareness of how UV rays can damage your eyes, increase your risk of cataracts and cancers of the eye especially in high-risk patients. UV protection with sunglasses is highly recommended in everyone, not only those that work outside, and can be preventive. 

In recognition of UV awareness month, and our efforts to increase knowledge of the dangers of Ultraviolet (UV) exposure to your eyes, (including cataracts). Chalant Sunglasses will be hosting our 1^st annual UV Awareness event titled “Sunglasses for A Purpose”, this event will be a cocktail party and fundraiser to raise funds in effort to support Prevent Blindness America.

Prevent Blindness America is the nation's leading volunteer eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight. Focused on promoting a continuum of vision care, Prevent Blindness America touches the lives of millions of people each year through public and professional education, advocacy, certified vision screening and training, community and patient service programs and research.

These services are made possible through the generous support of the American public.

Why should you sponsor?

Attending our “Sunglasses for a Purpose” event is important but standing out in the crowd by being a partner will highlight you and your business with a captive audience.

This event will have a certain mix of people with over 150 guest in attendance. We are responsible for creating the audience and will have the goal to bring together the right crowd that will benefit from our program.

The majority of people who attend our event will most likely know others with similar interests. Not only will you be in front of them but may have a chance to be recommended to their connections as well.

We have our own marketing efforts to make sure the event is well attended and successful. When partners decide to be involved, they will automatically get the benefit of being promoted throughout the process. Chalant will have local media support, which will provide extended exposure and visibility in markets you may have not tapped into yet.

Lastly, as a partner, your logo placement will be a part of a variety of our marketing pieces such as flyers, direct mail, brochures, websites, email marketing campaigns, tickets, signage, etc. this will also increase brand awareness for your organization. Being recognized as a sponsor at our event will communicate value and support with the audience at our event.

This event will have tables available to display products or encourage people to buy on site. We encourage our partners to consider providing a limited quantity or special discount if purchased at the event offer. As a sponsor you will acquire a list of attendees.

Dora Grant

Dora Grant is the Founder and CEO of Chalant Sunglasses. Chalant Sunglasses is a minority women owned business with a mission to educate consumers on the importance of wearing sunglasses. We design and sell high quality polarized sunglasses that protect consumers eyes from the suns Ultra Violet (UV) light, and other harsh effects.

Dora began working in the Sunglasses Industry in 2005 and over the past 11 years Dora has gained tremendous insight on the importance of sunglasses, and rewards while serving her customers. She also have an appreciation for the challenges of being a brand owner because it affords her an opportunity to learn and position Chalant to be more resourceful for our consumers. She's committed to her customer needs in addition to establishing rapport and maintaining excellent partnerships in order to maintain the success of Chalant.
