About the event

Stop the Violence Rap Battle is a celebration of Oakland's eclectic art culture and rich hip-hop history. This event is intended to promote and support artists of all genre's and engage with the community through art and music. This event will promote non-violence through its message of stop the violence. It is free to the public to promote community engagement, closer community connections and a stronger sense of Oakland pride. Our goal is to connect with creative people, promote entreprenuership throughout Oakland, provide quality services and an unforgettable experience to Oakland residents and tourists.

Stop the Violence Rap Battle will showcase key-note non-violence and mental health speakers, celebrity guests, a drive/give-away, performances by local artists, vendors from Oakland-based businesses and a censored freestyle competition (similar in premise to Whose line is it anyway? or Wld n' Out). Winner's will receive a cash prize. We are hoping to decrease crime and create a positive experience.

Why should you sponsor?

We are still in need of funds for competent on-site security and a donation booth. We would like to give something to the families who are in attendance. We are also in need of a quality stage and generator. Any donations to go towards a secure stage and good quality generators is very much appreciated.

Kings Delectables is an Oakland-based catering business. When we started operation in 2016, we noticed that all our favorite restaurants and businesses were leaving the area or closing. As a result of the "great flight" the neighborhood looked isolated and neglected. It seemed that the absence of business resulted in an increase of crime. Furthermore, there were fewer quality restaurants left in our area. We began catering and participating in farmers markets & local events. Along the way, we have met others who embrace the art of cooking and arts of all kinds. From painting to gardening to photography and music, we found that it all goes hand in hand.
