About the event
The event is being held to honor Steve Rettke and support sarcoma research at the Wilmot Cancer Institute in Rochester, NY. This will be our second annual event. Last year, we raised $5000 for sarcoma research at Wilmot. *The 5k run/walk will begin roadside at Stewart Lodge in Mendon Ponds Park. Start time is 9AM. The race will take place on a mostly paved course on scenic park roads with some rolling hills. It will finish on a downhill back to the Lodge.
* A FREE childrens' fun run will take place at 10 AM and will begin at Stewart Lodge. This will be a short dash in the field adjacent to the lodge. All participants will receive ribbons.
*The post race party will feature refreshments followed by the awards ceremony and door prize drawings at 10:30 AM.
*Pre Registration & Packet Pick-up is available at Medved Running & Walking Outfitters on Friday, June 17th from 4PM-7PM.
*Race Day Registration will begin at 7:30 AM in Stewart Lodge*
*Race T-Shirts to the first 200 5k registrants.
**Individual collecting the most in donations for the Wilmot Cancer Institute will receive 2 gift certificates each for a 1-night stay in any choice suite at The Vagabond Inn of Naples, NY! Please visit their website here at: www.thevagabondinn.com/
*Door Prize Drawings will be held following the awards ceremony based on randomly selected runner/walker bib numbers

In addition to your logo advertised on our facebook and event webpages and on the back of our race t-shirts, you would also have your logo displayed on a banner that would be placed either along the course, or at the lodge where participants and spectators will congregate, depending on your choosing. You will recieve photos of your banner on our webpage and can request links.

In addition to having your logo placed on our internet webpage and facebook page as well as on the back of our race day t-shirts, your company name will sponsor the 800 meter mark on the course. A special banner with your logo will be placed at that point on the course and it will be named "the (your company) 800 meter". This is an important point on the course as Steve's race was the 800 meter, which is why the first M/F 5k finishers at this point will recieve an extra $50. Your sponsorship of this place on the course will be significant.
