About the event
The Diwali Show is an annual charity event affiliated with the St George’s Student’s Union, and is the largest, most popular event in the University calendar, consisting of acting, singing and dancing that, after many years, have a reputation amongst the student population for being of the highest standard. It provides a huge platform to showcase the multitalented student population. It is a cultural show, bringing together people of all different ages, courses, ethnicities and backgrounds. Over 150 individuals take part and transform themselves into dancers, actors, musicians, singers, models, artistic directors, technical directors and producers.
In our 5th year we wish to take the show to a completely new level by conveying a freshly written script into an exceptionally produced show in an external central London venue. Every year we sell out our performance nights and raise thousands of pounds for charities in need.
This year the selected charities are Action Village India and Bhumi, which both strive to provide accessible healthcare and education in India, focusing on education children and strengthening the equality of women in various Indian states.
