Spring Fling & Charity Walk,

About the event

On May 13, 2017, we are holding our annual Spring Fling and Charity Walk at Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD.   We expect approximately 200 people, including adults, children and dogs.

The event will be a day of family fun, including live music, food trucks, vendors, games for the kids, dog training exhibition, and the charity walk. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and we have a target of $30,000. 

Why should you sponsor?

Lu's Labs has a very large social media following, including more than 9,000 Facebook followers.  Our audience includes people up and down the Eastern Seaboard, from New York to Florida, as well as most of the Southern States.   We will be heavily promoting this event, at a minimum, weekly, until the day of the event.  Some of the methods of promotion will include:

- Dedicated email blasts, as well as promotion in our weekly newsletter

- Facebook promotion, every other day

- Promotion on local event calendars

- Flyers throughout the area

- Advertisement in local newspapers a few weeks leading up to the event. 

Sponsors will receive heavy promotion, and logos will be included in all of our promotional materials.  Sponsors will also be allowed to attend the event to network with the attendees, including having a table where they can present their company.

Lu’s Labs is a 501(c)3 approved foster-based rescue based in Alexandria, Virginia. We rescue labrador retriever and labrador mixes from high-kill shelters throughout the Southeastern US and rehome them in the metropolitan Washington, DC area.   The number of dogs we rescue is quickly growing as our reputation spreads throughout the area, and we can barely keep up with the number of requests we get.  In just two years, we have saved over 600 dogs, no easy feat for a small group.  We have grown from a handful of volunteers to a network of folks all through the East Coast, and into the Southern States, ranging from dog fosters, transporters, adoption coordinators and medical providers.  We are regularly contacted by our veterinary partners to help with labs in need, and have developed a strong reputation as a rescue with heart and credibility.
