Indiana Racing For Autism Awareness a non profit statewide race team has teamed up with Thunder Valley Raceway LLC to celebrate and honor the Indiana Special Olympics as they celebrate their 50th Anniversary. It will be a night of local track racing where we honor our local special olympic athletes.
Why should you sponsor?
Indiana Racing For Autism Awareness is non profit where 100% of our donations goes right back to kids and the special needs community. We travel to our local tracks and help make them more special needs friendly and educate on how to accept those with differences. Doners see first hand how their money is spent. None of our over head costs comes from donations. My partner and I pay for all administration costs out of pocket. We do free marketing and promotion for all doners regardless of how much is donated. Our race teams help me do this by giving theur time to allow kids to get in their cars, sign autographs and other giveaway items. They set up at charity events to help me raise money for those in need. This event is to spotlight our special olympic athletes. Giving them a chance to have a fun night out and celebrate without judgement.
DeAnna CecilHi. My name is DeAnna Cecil. I am the parent of a 25 yr old son with autism. In 2016 I wanted to do something to take my advocacy for families like mine in a new direction. I have been a fan and supporter of our local racing venues in Indiana my whole life. I have witnessed how parents with special needs children have tried to enjoy a night out only to end up leaving or being asked to leave because of the behaviors from their children. I decided why not combine both passions. I began recruiting drivers and working with tracks and the fans on how to just accept our children and how to help them be able to have fun like any other child attending races. I have taken it a bit farther by making the nights special for all children when there are no special needs children in the stands. The drivers help me educate about their sport and the division they run. Together as a team we are keeping our sport alive and creating a place where special needs families can enjoy a night out like everyone else.
