About the event

We are happy to invite you as a sponsor for our 73rd Annual South Western Regional Convention. The convention will be held April 4- 7, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency in beautiful Downtown Houston. 

This year, we are excited to announce that the Xi Eta Lambda Education and Economic Development Foundation (XELEED) and the Southwestern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. are joining forces to put together this event.

The convention will also consist of a combination of presentations chosen through review of current leadership practices, community advocacy and economic empowerment. Additionally, our college members will display their intellectual talents by competing in Debate, Oratorical contest, Scholars Bowls. Furthermore, we will display the talent women in our region by hosting our Ms. Black and Gold beauty pageant were we award the winner with a scholarship and a chance to compete in the national pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada in July of 2019.

My name is James Hale. Convention Chair of the 73rd Annual Southwestern Regional Convention. The convention will be held April 4-7, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency in beautiful Downtown Houston. 

To date, with the support of corporations and the community, XELEED has provided over $100,000 in scholarships and tangible gifts the past fifteen years to over 100 students. Together with partners like you, we promote the ideals of scholarship, manly deeds, and love for all mankind throughout the Houston Metropolitan community. The primary aim of XELEED is to stimulate the growth and advancement of young adults by providing financial scholarships, education, and community support.  With your help we can further mitigate the financial barriers for students who seek higher education. Upon reciept of all donations, every penny is accounted for and upon request, records can be provided on how your donation was used.
