Something Special Games - Summer 2019,

Los Angeles, California, United States Los Angeles, California, United States

  • About the event

WHO: Any pet owner with a unique, gifted or "lovable lemon" companion is encouraged to enter their pet into the Something Special Games!

WHAT: The idea for the Something Special Games was inspired by the Special Olympics. With 10 categories, pet owners have the chance to showcase what makes their companion so unique - be it a unique gift, special talent, or an abnormality they've had since birth, but have learned to thrive with.

WHEN: The Something Special Games will kick off early summer 2019, and will run for one full month. Winner will be announced in each category, along with a grand prize winner overall.

WHERE: People and pets from all over the globe are welcome to enter the online Something Special Games! Participants are welcome to enter their special pet companion online via the RDR website, where they can upload a video to showcase their uniqueness.

WHY: Our mission for the Something Special Games is to share a message of inclusion and acceptance, while promoting anti-bullying among both humans and animals - we believe everyone deserves a chance to be loved!

    Why should you sponsor?

Based in Los Angeles, Road Dogs and Rescue was founded by British transplant, Nikki Carvey, over a decade ago. What started out as another foster fail story, eventually became a passion as Nikki learned more and more about the dark underworld of "bulldog backyard breeding."

RDR serves mainly 'bulldoggy' breeds - French/English Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Pugs - but has welcomed plenty of little scruffa-muffins along the way! We focus our efforts on medical and special needs cases; providing love, and the best medical care possible, until they are ready for their forever homes.

We call them "lovable lemons" because often times, they are considered broken, and unwanted. Unfortunately, due to poor breeding practices, many of these bullydogs end up on the street, or even thrown into dumpsters and left for dead. From cleft lips, to vertebral birth defects that leave them paralyzed, we have seen it all, and rescued it all
