  • About the event

Astronomy for Everyone: Size & Scale of the Universe explores the universe from the very small to the very large, looking at subatomic pieces of matter, atoms, cells, planets, stars, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and the whole universe.  It's a virtual journey throughout the cosmos describing celestial objects and how they were formed as well as their relative sizes compared with each other.  Truly exciting images and video segments serve to bring the point home.  Following this indoor formal presentation, we all go outdoors to view celestial objects in the night sky through a powerful hand-crafted telescope, such as the ice crystal rings of Saturn, craters on the Moon, etc., weather permitting.

    Why should you sponsor?

The purpose of the Star Tour for Look Up to the Stars is to bring exciting astronomy programs to communities throughout the U.S. by visiting libraries, schools, museums, and other organizations in order to foster awareness and interest in science, particularly astronomy.  The mission is to generate interest and foster scientific literacy in the general public nationwide through the delivery of awe-inspiring, educational and entertaining programs.

A 3rd grader told me after one of my programs that he now wanted to be an astronaut.  An 89-yr old woman told me that she has been to many presentations, and this one was the greatest she had ever been to.

"Your telescope and presentation was talked about for a very long time at our community - it was spectacular!  I will never ever forget  - it was a life changing experience!!!" - Sharlene Barrier, Engage Life Director
