About the event

My name is LaJessikah Jack. I am 24 years old and my passion to help is very strong. January 24, 2015, my best friend and younger cousin was murdered by her boyfriend. She was 23 years old, and such a wonderful, beautiful young woman. There may have been signs we may have missed, one of our biggest mistakes. I have a vision. I want to reach out and talk to these woman. Some are scared, some may want to leave but their heart won't let them. My family and I are trying to do a community reach-out. We are renting out our local Ampitheater here in Lake Charles, LA. There will be microphones, dj's, performers, poets, singers, etc. I mainly want spoken word. I want these wonderful woman to hear us, hear a lot of woman speak up. These will be survivors, some still going through it. SheSpeaks is going to be a big hit. I can feel it. We just need the help. I ask you all, for my loving cousin Octavia Jack, and every woman that has gone through Domestic Violence, this is for them.
