Seren's ALL Starts Childhood Cancer Fundraiser,

Grendon, England, United Kingdom Grendon, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

In December 2018 6 year old Seren was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukeamia). She suffered through chemotherapy and drug therapy, spending Christams in Birmingham Childrens hospital and has now reached the end of her intensive treatment, with only 2 years of chemotherapy left to go!

We are fundraising for leukeamia research by putting on a family fun day where the aim is not only to raise money for reserach into better treaments for ALL and hopefully a cure but also to share her success story with her friemds and neighbours by hosting a family fun event near Serens home.

I have offers of cake bakes and gifts for raffles and tombolas but I think htat a bar and food items will really attract the local commmunity and help us raise even more money for cancer research. September is childhood cancer awreness month so we have made our event gold to support CCLG the Childhood Cancer and Leukeamia Group #beboldgogold

    Why should you sponsor?

We are raising money for childhoohd cancer research. Why should you sponsor us? Well, its children dying of cancer.. but seriously the treatments have been unchanged for 70 years and are so harsh that even if you survive a childhood cancer then you still have 95% chance of having a chronic illness by the time you a re 45 purely because of the drugs you are exposed to in an attempt to cure you. 1 in 5 children die from their cancer and some cancers are terminal on diagnosis. How is this stil lhappening?

But, what you will be contributing to is a funday where all Serens friends and family and community can come togehter to celebrate her success stiry. She has raised £25,000 for cancer charities already since December and there are no signs of her giving up anytime soon and so an event where people can come together and be thanked for their part supporting her through her awful 8 month journey is overdue.

People will pay for their refreshments and all profits will go to CCLG and Birmingham Childrens Hosptial. If after reading this you dont wish to sponsor us you can still odnate to Serens ALL stars at https://www.cclg.org.uk/Serens-ALL-Stars
