Saraswati puja is an occasion all students look forward to all round the year. so we have chosen this occasion to recognise their creativity. Tt is one day when students drop their uniforms, salwar kameezes and jeans to get into crisp saffron saris and white dhotis to usher in the goddess of learning. Helped by the school authorities, the students give their best shot on this occasion, and there should be someone to encourage them.
We have been organising awards for durga puja for last 12 years. Saraswati Puja is another big festival in West Bengal. Saraswati puja is one of the big occasion in Kolkata that takes place during the period between late January and early February. In fact, the day when puja of Ma Saraswati is done is declared as a state holiday. In Kolkata Saraswati puja is celebrated with great pomp and show. It is on this day that the youngest female of the family is asked to dress up in yellow clothing. Sarswati puja of Kolkata is dedicated to the goddess of learning.
Saraswati puja is conducted in almost every School of Calcutta. Students of the School get together and assemble at the pandal to celebrate the festivity. Kids are really enthusiastic about the puja. It is during this puja that children pray to the goddess for their academic success.
