About the event

Run Row Ride is an exciting new triathlon with a difference! Instead of swimming participants will be rowing! No more getting in and out of the water and changing out of wet gear!

The Run Row Ride triathlon is an achievable challenge for those who currently do no exercise as well as those who partake in exercise several times a week.

The event is scheduled to take place on 16 October 2016. Participants will complete their ‘triathlon’ at a gym of their choice.

• All participants will receive a Run Row Ride technical t-shirt
• Participants who complete the challenge and raise over £50 will receive a medal
• The monies raised by participants will go to support The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Charitable Trust

Our target audience for the event will focus on:

• People aged 30-55 years (men & women)
• People in full time or part-time work with access to a car (professionals, middle management)
• People who live in Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Buckinghamshire, North London
• Existing members of gyms in the locality
• People who have recently started exercising or have expressed an interest in losing weight.

RUN ROW RIDE will be widely promoted throughout the community via local press / media, social media, direct mail, emails and the website. On the day we are aiming for approx. 500 people to complete the Run Row Ride triathlon.

We will work with corporate sponsors in partnership to ensure that both the charity and the company benefit.

RUN ROW RIDE - Sponsorship Details

PR & Marketing Support

The PR & Marketing campaign will include:

• Local Media activity

Including press releases to all local media channels. Listings on local radio station websites and coverage via Radio Verulam.

• Poster and leaflet advertising

A4 posters (with sponsors logos included)are  to be distributed to target schools, doctors’ surgeries, retailers, supermarkets, libraries, gyms, fitness centres and major businesses throughout the area.

• Banner advertising

The RUN ROW RIDE event will be promoted via large banners across the area. 4 sites in St Albans are already confirmed.

• Website

Dedicated website promoting the RUN ROW RIDE which includes sponsor’s logos and includes inbound links to their website.

• E Shot campaign to participants

All eshots to include sponsors logos with an inbound link to your corporate site.

• Third party website listings

The event will be promoted on third party websites including: Running & Triathlon listing sites (i.e. Running Bug), local listing sites (i.e Best of..), local media websites listing section etc

The Charity

Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is a renowned, specialised cancer treatment centre based in Northwood, Middlesex. Every year the highly skilled clinical team treats over 5,000 new patients who are referred for specialist treatment from across the country. The team prides itself on providing each patient with first class care which makes Mount Vernon Cancer Centre one of the leading cancer centres in the UK.

This year the charity is launching a new mass participation fundraising event which will take place in gyms across Middlesex, Hertfordshire and North London and aims to raise approx £10,000 in it's first year. To help cover the costs of promotion including tshirts and medals the charity is seeking corporate sponsors

 

The money raised from Run Row Ride will help Mount Vernon Cancer Charitable Fund to:

- Support patients and their families emotionally during their cancer journey

- Provide information, resources and highly advanced equipment that is not available on the NHS

- Improve patient comfort on every level in all departments and wards

- Provide a variety of therapies which are proven to help relieve patient stress and anxiety.

The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Charitable Fund is part of East & North Herts Hospitals Charity. It supports the excellent work carried out at the Centre and makes the extra difference to every patient. Through the delivery of projects, the purchase of equipment and the provision of information, we provide additional services that complement NHS funding.

The Charitable Fund works closely with members of staff across the Centre to identify the projects and appeals which will directly improve patient care in order for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre to remain at the forefront of cancer care.

 

The money raised from Run Row Ride will be used to make the time patients spend at Mount Vernon that little bit easier.
