About the event

INTRODUCTION

A group student from Department of Computer Information Sciences (CIS), Universiti Teknologi Petronas the first and only private university to be awarded a six-star rating (the highest performance level) by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia for its research, development and commercialisation efforts under the Malaysia Research Assessment Rating System (MyRA) are required to conduct a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project as a requirement to fulfill the total credit hours for current semester.

This Project is a 14-days project which will be held in Padang, Sumatra, Indonesia with participation of 17 students under the supervision of Dr. Raja Ahmad Iskandar bin Raja Yaacob, Dr M Nuri Al-Amin Endut and Dr Muhammad Ridhuan Lim Abdullah from

Department of Management & Humanities, Assoc. Prof Dr. Wan Fatimah bt. Wan Ahmad from Department of Computer Information Sciences

The project will collaborate with Andalas University, an "A"
accredited university in Indonesia. Andalas University is the oldest university in Indonesia outside of Java. It consists of 15 faculties which mostly located at Limau Manis, 12 kilometres from the centre of Padang. Within 14 days, students will organize activities that would cater 4 main areas:

OBJECTIVES

•To promote and revive Malay culture through
traditional activities and knowledge sharing sessions.

•To get a better understanding of the Indonesian
traditional cultures especially Minangkabau traditions.

•To strengthen the relationship between the students
and the communities of two (2) countries which
involving Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and
Andalas University.

•To evolve the communication skill among the
participants in the sense of leadership, good attitude
and critical thinking as well as social management.

Rumpun 2.0 project provides a good platform for
our sponsor to contribute and give back to the
society in both participating countries. Your
contribution will be fully credited throughout the
process. Below are the lists of CSR that will done
during Rumpun 2.0 project :

• Contribute five or six laptops to Pesantren
Modern Terpadu Prof. DR. Hamka.

• Organize a workshop for students at Pesantren
on how to deliver or spread dakwah with the
implementation of technology which is by using
Pawtoon.

• Collaboration with Bung Hatta University to build
a house for homeless using recycle materials
(plastic bottle).
• Symphosium with students in Andalas University.

RUMPUN 2.0 PROJECT

•Tax Benefit

Government allowed tax deduction for those who are
involved in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
activities. Therefore, there will be an invoice provided
to the sponsor organization for the tax deduction
processes.

•Brand Awareness and Recognition

Rumpun 2.0 is conducted internationally making the
marketing and promotional opportunity not bounded
in Malaysia only.This is one of the platform for your
company as the involvement in our event will entitle
you to promote your brand to an international level.
