Robbies Roos RLFC BIG WEEKEND,

Warlingham, England, United Kingdom Warlingham, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

    Hello,

My name is Ash and I am the captain of Robbies Roos
RLFC.  Robbies Roos are a charity rugby
league team formed in 2014. We formed as a legacy after the passing of Robert
Clive Turner, from cot death in 2013 and undertook our first event in the
summer of 2014. Sadly, not long after our event Jacob Dean Strowgler-Turner passed
away as a still birth baby, which fuelled us even more to make the Roos’ a
    success.

Our founding member Matt, whos nephews passed away has been
an inspiration to us all in the formation of this team. Matt and his family
received some much needed support from a charity called Saying Goodbye who are
a part of the Mariposa Trust. Saying Goodbye offer support to families across
the UK who have lost babies and infants through still birth, cot death and
other causes. Without the support from the charity, the Turner family would
have fallen to pieces. Despite the heartbreak the whole Turner family managed
to pull together in August 2014 to deliver and amazing family fun day,
featuring the Robbies Roos rugby team.

Saddened by the passing of Jacob, shortly after the event,
the Roos players and supporters were once again spurred into action. We had
always intended to make the Roos game an annual event, but fuelled by passion
and desire we are now aiming higher, to become much bigger and better!

This year, we are playing against the same team as last
year, the Beckenham Bears, at Warlingham, South London. However, there is one
BIG difference this year, we are pairing our event ‘The Roos Big Weekend’ with
a longstanding, highly successful tournament ‘The Raging Bull Shield’ which
takes place every year, featuring The Beckenham Bears.

With this in mind, we are looking at a significantly higher
crowd attending over the weekend, which means there is possibility to increase
the amount of money reaching the charity. Last year we raised in excess of
£1000 with around 200 people attending the 1 day event. This year we are
expecting footfall to increase to in the region of 1000 people attending over
    the 2 day event.

The reason I approach you today is to ask about the
possibility of sponsorship for the event, we currently need to purchase a new
and updated, bespoke playing kit which features both of the boys who passed
away. In return, we will offer you an exclusive partnership, we will not have
any other sponsors involved if you are able to purchase our playing shirts,
from Raging Bull and purchase our match balls which will feature our logo and
the Virgin Active logo. We will also publish the partnership on our website and
various social media platforms. The total cost of sponsorship for the event is
in the region of £1000 and we would greatly appreciate your support.

Thank you for your time today,

    Kindest regards,

    Ash Horrobin – Roos Captain
