About the event

As the premier student event within IEEE Region 6, the Rising Stars conference brings together the most promising students and young professionals from within the region to network and be inspired by each other and the top tech companies from around the world. It will be taking place the first week in January 2017 at the Excalibur in Las Vegas, Nevada. This conference is in conjunction with the Consumer Electronics Showcase which occurs just after the conference.

This event is a unique opportunity to network and socialize with attendees of the Rising Stars Conference!

We will provide attendees with food and drink for(appetizers and 1-2 drinks per guest, with about 45 minutes of socialization). Then we will break up the group into separate meeting rooms with moderators to discuss "hot" topics within the industry.

This event will lead to some very interesting dialogue in an informal setting, and facilitate a lot of interaction and thought-provoking debate among participants. The setting made it much easier to engage in the discussion versus within the traditional conference structure, and helps attendees connect with those who they would not necessarily interact with during the rest of the conference.

I have been an active member of IEEE since 2008. My goal with the organization is to increase diversity in technology, and to help young engineers move forward in their careers. 

I currently serve as IEEE Young Professionals Oregon Section chair, and am secretary-elect for the IEEE Oregon Section.
