  • About the event

    Remember The Music is an annual roots music festival benefiting Alzheimer’s disease research organized by Betty’s Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are inspired by our Grandmother, Betty, who loved music and dancing. She and our Grandpa were square dance champions many years ago in Ohio. Music’s undeniable influence in all our lives is also extremely powerful when it comes to those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease; by shifting moods, reducing stress, stimulating memories, and facilitating cognitive function. Grandma lived with Alzheimer’s for 16 years before finally giving in September, 2012. Since inception in 2008, our grassroots (100% volunteer) fundraising efforts have resulted in over $85,000 in raised funds for Alzheimer’s Disease research. We are poised to make RTM 2019 the most successful to date!

    We are extremely pleased to be hosting our 10th annual Remember The Music festival August 24, 2019 1 - 7:00 PM at Ernie Howlett Park in Rolling Hills Estates. This is an, ALL AGES, festival featuring music by renowned artists, Sam Outlaw, Michael Monroe Goodman, Victoria Bailey, and Katie Jo & The Mijos. We will have lawn seating, a VIP tent, food trucks, beer vendors, arts and crafts, children activities, and more. Below is a rough list of events.

    Why should you sponsor?

    We have established a list of over 700 regular supporters and friends of our cause who receive our email newsletters and event announcements. These supporters are scattered throughout Southern California with a focus on the South Bay, Long Beach, and Orange County.

    In addition to our regular supporters we reach out to the general public through our relationship with KCSN. Two weeks before the event KCSN runs public services announcements promoting Remember The Music. According to Nielsen ratings, KCSN has a weekly cumulative audience of approximately 176,000 listeners. In 2017 KCSN merged with KSBR-FM at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo in south Orange County to become KCSN-FM. “The New 88.5’s audience reach expanded from 3 million to 11.5 million.’’

    We promote our events on many social media channels including Facebook advertisements, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The event will be listed on local community event calendars (online). All sponsors will be listed in the event program. We will display an event banner at several locations

    Most importantly our cause is extremely important. Alzheimer's disease is devastating and debliatating. An estimated 5.8 million Americans of all ages are living with Alzheimer's disease, and every 65 seconds someone develops the disease.

    Betty’s Foundation for the Elimination of Alzheimer’s Disease is a family operated nonprofit organization that was established in December 2008. Our mission is two-fold:

    1. We aim to eradicate this disease by raising funds for the most innovative and progressive research programs in the country that are fighting to find the cause of and the cure for Alzheimer's disease.

    2. We aim to educate families about Alzheimer’s disease, and to raise overall awareness of the difficulties faced by those dealing with the disease.

    The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that as many as 5.3 million people in the United States are living with Alzheimer’s Disease and every 70 seconds a new person develops the disease. We aim to preserve memories and stop this disease from hurting our loved ones!
