Rehabilitation Therapy’s Orientation Week,

Kingston, Ontario, Canada Kingston, Ontario, Canada

  • About the event

The Queen’s University School of Rehabilitation Therapy’s Orientation Committee is currently seeking community sponsorship to help welcome 150 incoming students into the Masters of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy programs this fall. As a committee, we are responsible for the planning and execution of events throughout the first week of September to help our new Gaels feel at home in their new school and in the Kingston community. We are looking for various types of sponsorship to add to and to enhance the experience of this first impressionable week.

The incoming students will be travelling to Queen’s from all over the country to begin this new journey. Both Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy are two year post-graduate programs with a combination of academic and clinical work. Each and every one of the incoming students has worked tremendously hard to be accepted into these competitive programs, being hand-picked by their display of intelligence, their community endeavours, and their drive to improve Canadian healthcare.

We have numerous activities planned for orientation week, including a trip to Wolfe Island, a boat cruise through the 1000 Islands, and a scavenger hunt through Kingston’s many landmarks. Throughout the six days of events, the students will get to know their new peers, will be introduced to staff and faculty, and will mingle with second year students for advice. This exciting week also provides the students with the opportunity to be familiarized with the city’s and unique services.

    Why should you sponsor?

We are seeking assistance in the form of sponsorships, in-kind donations, prizes, coupons, and/or gift cards. This will help us fund event fees, food, entertainment, and supplies and will also help to fill the students’ “swag bags” and provide various prizes throughout the week. Sponsors will be recognized in the students’ welcome packages that they’ll receive on the first day of orientation week.

If we can provide any further information regarding orientation week, feel free to email us. We will be sure to contact you within 1 business day to follow up and to discuss any further details.

Thank you so much for your generous time and consideration.
