About the event

Reboot is a hackathon conducted by the student body of the IEEE RAS chapter, VIT during the month of March post riviera. Reboot is a major event in VIT during riviera time. This hackathon occurs each year in Vellore Institute of technology, Vellore. This hackathon has major aggregations and recognitions. This hackathon has a duration of 36 hours. This optimized duration of 36 hours is chosen in order to maximise creativity, competitiveness and efficiency. The main purpose of Reboot is to introduce freshers to the world of hacks and foster creativity and a sense of innovation amongst students to bring out the best in them. It also serves as an important platform for every student to make them realise their true potential and the technical field that will appeal to them the most. This event also gives students a glimpse of what life in their future would be. These projects are the practical application of what students learn. Some of these projects can also lead to start ups for which we provide a strong platform. To summarize it all, Reboot provides the necessary platform for the future innovators and entrepreneurs. Various problem statements are provided to work on, like healthcare, defence, modern communication and so on. This 36-hour hackathon will include separate sessions for team formation, idea presentation, product/prototype development, and final pitch. Reboot has two modes. The first one being the single-phase hackathon in which the hack will start a particular time and then there would be a time limit within which the final project has to be submitted. Reboot also has a two-phase method in which first an idea is presented, time is given, the best ideas are chosen for execution. Participants will be judged based on the following criteria: Originality, Presentation, Product quality, Code quality and final presentation. This year, Reboot will begin on the 11th of march and will be held in Anna auditorium. There is a total prize money of rupees 30000. The winner will get 15000 and the runner up and the third place will get rupees 10000 and rupees 5000 respectively. We encourage freshers to come and participate along with their seniors and experts from VIT and competitors from other colleges as well.
