Rebellious and the Rebellious Dreams Fund are proud to present: Rebel Sounds Live! Be there at the Pocono Cinema & Cultural Center for the LIVE entertainment on March 26, 2022, from 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Join us as we highlight some of the BEST music, poetry and visual art that the Northeastern Pennsylvania region has to offer. Come and enjoy great drinks, LIVE music, and fantastic food from the Pocono's very own, Rogue Tacos!

Rebellious has transformed the Pocono Cinema's Theater 1 into a live entertainment space with an Awards theme, so dress to impress! Doors open one hour prior to showtime; but the earlier you arrive, the better! There is limited seating and reserved seats will be first come first served. There will be alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages and food at the venue. Food will be provided by Pocono Cinema and Rogue Tacos. Grab a bite to eat and non-alcoholic beverages from the Pocono Cinema's concession stand or some grub from East Stroudsburg's very own, Rogue Tacos! Rebellious and 'Zel, will also be selling #Rebel Merch for the FIRST TIME EVER. Be sure not to miss this amazing night of music, poetry visual art and a GOOD #REBEL TIME!

Rebel Sounds Live! will be a 4 hour and 30-minute event curated by The Rebellious Dreams Fund, Rebellious Empire LLC and Denzel ('Zel) Rodriguez (@Therealzellyzel). Our goal is to bring together talented artists from all backgrounds and create a platform to showcase Northeast Pennsylvania's wide range of immense talent, right in the Pocono area. Bringing the community to the artists and creating a bond of mutual support. In turn, fostering inspiration, inclusivity and opportunity. We want this show to be a start to a continued partnership with the Pocono area and beyond, to allow for more opportunity for local artists to showcase their work.

Why should you sponsor?

Rebellious Dreams Fund is a non-profit organization, serving Eastern Pennsylvania’s performing artists and the arts within the urban community. Rebellious Dreams Fund’s goal is to provide resources, educate, develop, promote, create sustainable opportunities and improve the quality of life for performing artists. By bringing the community and artists together, we strive to create a bond of support and rapport. This spring, we are looking for support to raise $5,000 for the Rebellious Dreams Project, an effort that will assist in offering Eastern Pennsylvanian performing artists an opportunity to perform at venues in major cities and broaden their reach.

On March 26, 2022, we will be hosting a fundraising showcase to highlight some of the elite local performing artists including, singers, lyricists, painters, poets and dancers, from Eastern Pennsylvania. We believe our fundraising efforts would go even further with your business as our sponsor. In this role, are seeking monetary or in-kind donations and in turn, we would promote your business as the event’s generous sponsor, committed to giving back to the local communities.

Amber Robinson

Denzel Rodriguez, an emerging artist, producer and former band member, enrolled into ESU in 2012, with a major in Music. As he began to feel the pressure of monotonous courses, that didn’t aid his artistry. He knew this was something, he had to do outside of course material. He wanted to create a home for his music. A haven where he wouldn’t be taken advantage of, but the business side of the industry was unfamiliar. Upon making this decision, Denzel was hit with the real world. He was starting a journey with a lack of direction, a lack of industry education and a need for sustainable income and community support.

In 2014, Amber Robinson, a student at Penn State University, was fighting with her decision to double major in Political Science and Information technology. Growing up surrounded by music and dance, her current destination revoked her of her creativity. Veering from her course, she returned home to re-think what she wanted in life and law classes and computers, didn’t seem to be cutting it. In 2014, upon returning to Penn State for another Semester, Amber began her journey into Graphic Design and Cinematography. Soon hitting another wall when her film professor exclaimed, “This school isn’t going to give you what you need to succeed. You need more.”

Denzel Rodriguez and Amber Robinson officially met in 2015. The two were like-minded individuals who shared a love for quality art and music. Combining their talents, the duo decided to create an LLC to provide high quality music and visual services to their community.

Every artist serviced, from theater, to musician, all had the same idea, “The Poconos is the land of the voiceless, it’s stagnant and we need to get out of here.” Artists who lived here for years, refused to claim their hometown, exclaiming that the Pocono area doesn’t support those who aren’t already established, or experienced being denied into spaces and venues whose mission statements included inclusion for artists. This was an issue and they wanted to bridge the gap.

In 2018, Denzel Rodriguez and Amber Robinson had embarked on opening doors in the community, to create havens for performing artists to showcase their art. Having been turned down time and time again in the Pocono area, they took an opportunity in Allentown’s Gravity - Chicago Bar and Grill. From 2018 – 2019, the duo began working with creatives to create and maintain consistent havens for talented local artists to perform and create sustainable income.

In 2020, the pandemic struck and halted their efforts. Determined, the duo began working on a plan to support the Pocono area and beyond. In 2022, Rebellious Dreams Fund was founded, with a mission to open doors for local talent and improve the quality of life for performing artists. Each dollar goes to keeping performing art dreams alive and not only proves that the Pocono area is a supportive community worthy of pride, but solidifies that the emerging talent in our area is significant.
