About the event
Puppy Run is a 5k/1 mile race hosted by the Beta Alpha chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon which takes place in Urbanovsky Park on the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock, Texas. The proceeds benefit Alpha Omega Epsilon as well as the Morris Safe House, a no-kill animal rescue facility for dogs in Lubbock, Texas. The race will take place on October 8, 2016 and it begins at 9:00 a.m, sign-in and day-of registration begins at 8. Participants are encouraged to bring their dogs with them so long as they are up to date on their shots!
There are two options for participants: there is a 1 mile walk and a 5k run. The top 2 winners of each event will win a Visa gift card! There will also be a dog costume contest and a human costume contest! There will also be a basket of dog toys and treats and a basket of human goodies to be raffled off! We will have music during and after the event, yard games (cornhole, ladderball, etc.), and food for all participants at the end of the race!
The cost to register is $25 and this includes the race t-shirt! The t-shirt design will be posted as soon as it is finalized. Note- If you register the day of the event, your race t-shirt is not guaranteed as we will only order a certain amount of extra shirts! If you are unable to attend the event but would still like to contribute, we are also accepting donations!

Why should you sponsor?
You should sponsor Puppy Run because the organizer has been working hard to ensure that as many people attend the event as possible so that we can make the largest donation possible to the Morris Safe House! The Morris Safe House is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue facility for dogs in Lubbock, Texas and A.O.E. loves to volunteer there! Sallie Morris and her husband take great care of the dogs that are brought to them and they always find wonderful new owners for the dogs to ensure that they will continue to receive the best care possible!
Sarah WooldridgeSarah Wooldridge is an Industrial Engineering major and Fundraising Committee chair of the Beta Alpha chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon at Texas Tech University. This is the first big event she has organized, although in the past she has put together a few smaller fundraisers for her chapter of A.O.E.
