About the event

Somos Arte Chicago is proud to present the Arts and Education section of the 2021 Puerto Rican Festival of Chicago in Humboldt Park. By partnering with artists and creatives in the Puerto Rican community, we plan to bring alive the theme "Home," where artists are invited to celebrate the things that make them feel at home.

Through the works in this exhibition, we are connecting our identity and roots between Chicago and La Isla as well as speaking on the lived experiences of our communities.

At the festival, guests can expect to experience live art by world renowned artists, interactive photo instillations,

workshops, talks, and more.

We will also be exhibiting 'Galería Somos Arte' where we

will invite our community of creatives to submit works to our outdoor community gallery. We expect the Arts and Education section of the festival to be one of the most exciting and high traffic areas of the entire festival.

Why should you sponsor?

To date, Somos Arte has worked with well over 50 talented artist to bring their art to community and commercial spaces throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond. We've impacted thousands through our workshops, community projects, collaborations and more. 

This fall, we’ll be hosting an exhibition at the Puerto Rican Festival of Chicago from Thursday September 23rd to Sunday September 26th in Humboldt Park. Our festival is one of the largest cultural festivals in the city and the largest celebration of the Puerto Rican community in the United States. We average 40-45,000 attendees throughout the weekend. We expect the somos Arte exhibition area to be one of the most high traffic spaces within the fest.

We’re looking to connect with organizations that want to get involved supporting our festival and the arts. The Puerto Rican Festival is a fantastic opportunity to reach a large presence of guests and connect with them in a dynamic and intimate setting.

My name is Sabrina Alicea and I am the Director and Founder of Somos Arte Chicago. Somos Arte is volunteer powered organization dedicated to celebrating art and education in Chicago’s Puerto Rican community. Our mission is to celebrate art and education in Chicago and the Puerto Rican community.
