About the event
PLS is the nation's largest convening of student body presidents from college and universities. The event will take place at the new Hilton Washington DC National Mall from June 7-10, 2019.
Hosted by the National Campus Leadership Council, our summit revolves around small group discussions, big speakers, and panels that enhance the depth of conversation. We've designed it in a way to provide unique opportunities to share best practices, develop meaningful relationships with peers and policymakers, and identify strategic ways to tackle big problems.
Every summit we’ve hosted has brought together new ideas, fostered friendships, and sparked the dialogue necessary for a positive impact in our communities. At PLS19, we will dive deeper into understanding higher education policy at the federal and local levels.
Why should you sponsor?
PLS sponsorship provides a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students who influence today’s decision-makers and will soon become decision-makers themselves.
Building Campus Market: Colleges spend an average of $72 million on external
vendors annually. SBPs are involved in many of those decisions and operate the budget of their own student organizations. PLS provides ample opportunity to heighten your brand visibility among these leaders and directly engage with them in person throughout the weekend’s events.
Recruiting Talent: These students represent the best and brightest nationwide.
Having all these young minds at PLS offers potential employers the perfect venue to court and attract top talent. We host focused panels and networking receptions to give time and attention to making sure student leaders can connect directly with top industry leaders.
Championing Key Issues: Whether you are a company with a social cause or a nonprofit building a wider audience, PLS is a unique venue to engage with the country’s top campus movers-and-shakers. The 2014 Summit laid the groundwork for us to bring the It’s On Us campaign to 200+ campuses by the
campaign’s September launch.
The National Campus Leadership Council was created in 2012 to better advance and strengthen student leadership throughout American higher education. Our nonpartisan programs empower student body leaders at over 500 colleges around the country to develop the tools, networks, and skills necessary to confront exigent issues facing students today. By developing deep institutional knowledge and relationships with major higher education stakeholders at all levels of decision-making, NCLC is a nexus for the worlds of policy advocacy, leadership development, and thought leadership.
This year, NCLC will unveil new projects and collaborations expected to bring student voice to the forefront of higher education decision-making with the official release of SVI 2019, a follow-up to our inaugural Student Voice Index (SVI) research project, and premiere the Policy Alliance, a coalition of statewide student associations representing more than 7 million students coast to coast.
