M3 Sport Incorporated (M3 Sport) is thrilled to be the organizer of the first of an annual international pre-season soccer tournament to be held in the Dallas Fort Worth Area, Texas in the United States. Participating teams include the world’s prominent football (soccer) teams and notable players from Spain, Netherlands, England, Portugal and Mexico.
The 2015 tournament will be held between July 9 and July 19, 2015. Participating teams will be drawn into two (2) groups of three teams each. Worldwide TV rights for the tournament are currently available, except for France and French governed territories. Normal rules of association football/soccer apply except the following:
Three (3) points will be awarded for a win and zero (0) points for a loss
A drawn game will be decided by penalty kicks (no extra time). The winner of the penalty kicks gets two (2) points and the loser, one (1) point
Last placed teams in each group will play for the 5th and 6th position; second placed teams in each group will play for 3rd and 4th place, while top placed teams play for 1st and 2nd place.
The 1st placed team will be presented with a commemorative trophy.
The tournament will be hosted at the Cotton Bowl Stadium (Dallas) and the Toyota Stadium (Frisco) in Texas. Both stadia are top venues in the United States for both professional and amateur soccer. Both stadia have hosted many international football (soccer) matches including World Cup games, recent pre-season friendlies with the likes of Real Madrid and AS Roma, CONCACAF Gold Cup matches and a massively attended friendly match between Brazil and Mexico.
