Power Yoga Project,

Spring Hill, Tennessee, United States Spring Hill, Tennessee, United States

  • About the event

Power Yoga Project is a donation based organization providing yoga outside of the studio in community parks and recreational areas. PYP believes in empowering the individual through the practice of yoga to discover happiness, experience growth and achieve well-being within. With PYP, students are encouraged to step into and experience their own greatness while building a strong, supportive, community. We believe yoga should be accessible to everyone so they can enjoy the benefits of personal practice, while building friendships and encouraging community growth. A portion of PYP proceeds is given to our cities and communities so they can continue to provide places for people to grow and play.

    Why should you sponsor?

This company was set up as an LLC with the abillity to build a brand and sell merchandise along with providing donation based yoga classes in community parks and recreational areas. We believe in the incredible transformative power of yoga both physically and mentally for individuals. We also believe in the power of community; we know strong connections build powerful, supportive friendships, and exploring one’s community leads to sustainable, urban growth. We want to make yoga accessible and affordable for everyone. Yoga in the studio can be very expensive which can intimidate and discourage many individuals. We are getting rid of that limitation and mindset with Power Yoga Project. We want to create a movement and have this spread in as many communities as possible, not just in Tennessee but in every state! We need additional funding to pay for administration fees, paying for our teachers and expanding as far as we can. We see a real opportunity in this idea and need help sustaining it as we grow.

    Heather Andrews

Power Yoga Project was founded by Heather Andrews, an avid yoga practitioner with a vision to bring yoga into the community to make it accessible and affordable for everyone. Heather is a wife, mother of three, native Nashvillian, IT Analyst and a really big kid at heart. She began her yoga practice as a means to get back in shape physically after her last pregnancy and create a better balance between work, life and overall health. After her first yoga class, she was immediately hooked and quickly became most inspired by Baron Baptiste and the Baptiste Yoga Methodology. Baptiste yoga represents community, service, possibility, leadership and transformation on and off the mat. Heather completed her yoga teacher training in June 2016 directly under Baron Baptiste and the Baptiste Institute in Sedona, AZ. From this intense, transformative and mind-blowing training she discovered an ability to be something bigger was within her all along. It was a matter of becoming aware of it, living in the present and being here now.
