About the event
The Matlacha Hookers - (hookers - as is women who fish) is a group of women that raise money for various charities and needs in our community of Southwest Florida. We are a 501c non profit organization. Every October we have a major community fishing tournament for children and adults which raises money for the local Pine Island Elementary School. This school is in a poorer community with lower income families. The school uses this money to invest in new educational programs, hardware, software and equipment.
