Petals in the Park,

Cambridge, England, United Kingdom Cambridge, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

Petals stands for Pregnancy Expectations Trauma and Loss Society.  The charity provides counselling and support to couples who have experienced trauma or loss during pregnancy and childbirth.  (For more info take a look around the website: www.petalscharity.org).  Petals currently makes no charge for this counselling as we believe the counselling should be available to all, regardless of people’s ability to pay, but we need the support of fundraisers like YOU, to allow us to continue to do this.

Our registered Charity number is 1150375.

Petals in the Park is a 4-hour outdoor Jazzercise (fun, dance aerobics exercise programme) workout for anyone to join in with (no previous Jazzercise experience necessary!).  For a registration fee of £20 it will be 4 hourly sessions of fun aerobic workout to music ( in a centrally located Park called Parkers Piece in Cambridge UK). Participants can do as much or as little as they like, and raise money and awareness for Petals at the same time. This will take place on Sunday the 16th of August.

Please check out the promo video created for this event. It was one of my friends and students who lost her little girl Isabelle (she was still born 3 years ago) that came to me after becoming Fundraising Ambassador for the charity Petals and asked if we could do something with Jazzercise to raise awareness and funds. It is Amelia who is sharing her story on the promo video and I am one of the instructors on the video :-)

This is going to be a fantastic way to raise awareness and funds for a much needed local service. Petals is looking to go nationwide by the year 2018. We are in need of sponsorship and donations for various things such as tank tops for the day, wrist bands. The local Cambridge Evening News newspaper will be covering Amelia's story alongside the event, lots of potential marketing for any businesses who may want to sponsor the tank tops and get their logo out there. You can read more about Amelia and her story in The Cambridge Evening News this Saturday (25th July) and hear from myself, Amelia and Karen Burgess (founder of Petals) on the local radio Cambridge 105.

We are expecting up to 200 participants. Any help would be gratefully received. We thank you in advance for taking the time out to check out our event.
