Pepperdine Law’s Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship & the Law, in conjunction with the Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship & the Law, is hosting an event on Thursday, March 03 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The purpose of this event is primarily academic, but will serve as a great way for students, practitioners and other professionals to network with individuals from various fields of business, law and entrepreneurship. Below is an outline of our event, with lists of topics, subtopics and a breakdown of our attending speakers.
THEME: Managing a company in today’s changing marketplace. Our goal is to bring to light the emerging issues that are faced by novice entrepreneurs and experienced businesses, exploring how traditional business models adapt to emerging issues of how businesses are formed, how they are currently managed, and the role of the lawyer in these decisions.
PANEL DISCUSSIONS BREAKDOWN:
PANEL 1: Corporate structure in the US: the Traditional Business Models versus the Start-Up Model. The goal of this panel is to capture the issues on the home-front; outlining the changing structure of US Businesses that provide opportunities for new entrepreneurs to enter the market. How do companies resolve matters? The goal of this panel is to capture the unforeseen issues of doing business; that is, what happens when companies do not evaluate the risks?
