Paradise Pop-Up,

Los Angeles, California, United States Los Angeles, California, United States

  • About the event

Founded in 2016 by two newly undergraduate students with a passion for creating, Paradise Magazine has committed itself to starting conversation and promoting inclusivity among all artists, art lovers, mediums, and more.

We wanted to create a platform to help support artists (both established and up and coming), whether it be by sharing and promoting their art, or buying their artworks if we can. We act with the artist in mind, and are always looking for ways to help and connect with them.

Over the last year, we've released two issues out of pocket - both of which are self titled and include photography, poetry, collage work, and interviews. We've also invested in creating a website to better represent artists and their work that can be found in the links provided below.

We're extremely grateful for all the support we've receieved from everyone, whether they've contributed their work or just kind words, and now we want to give back to everyone that's helped from the jump.
Our two year anniversary will be on June 15, 2018 and we want to use this day to meet artists, showcase art, and have a good time in a safe space at pop up event open to the public.

On this day, we believe that everyone will be able to benefit from making lasting connections with other artists in attendance that could potentially lead to new opportunities for both parties. We also want to extend an opportunity of our own for artists to promote their artwork at the event and be able to sell and keep their profits.

All funds will be used for the following:
    Venue
    Vendors
    Amenities
    Processing Fees
    Projection/Production Services

We would like to be fully funded by the beginning of February so that we can move forward with the booking process as soon as possible to provide the best experience for everyone.

This event means a great deal to us as we'd love to continue to grow and help others in any way we can. We want to use this day to meet more of you and converse in person, all while having a backdrop of amazing art and music. Proceeds made at the event will be donated to fighting homelessness in Los Angeles.

    Why should you sponsor?

We believe in giving back the community that was instrumental in instilling our core values of hardwork and resilience. We want to give back to those who have fallen on hard times, and to also give low-income youth in Los Angeles the opportunity to come in and create art with us. A portion of all proceeds that we make through the selling of our magazines and t-shirts will be donated to combatting homelessness and to funding arts programs; we also plan on having donation boxes available to drop items off if attendees wish.

Moreover, this is also a day for us to connect with local artists and give them the chance to collaborate with others as we continue to advocate for getting artists paid for the work that they do. This will be a time of coming together and making a push in the right direction.

Having this event come to life would mean creating a safe space for everyone to enjoy, and having a sponsor support us in our endeavors would mean being one step closer to making this a reality that we have been dreaming of.
