About the event

Outlantacon is an Atlanta-based event for the Queer Geek audience! You'll find all the usual convention fare here—discussion panels, gaming, costuming, special events, etc—the difference is that it all has a queer 'bent' to it. Here you can enjoy all the convention trappings in an atmosphere where you're free to be yourself!We also offer some pretty unique twists as well, like our own versions of Match Game, Project Cosplay, Nea's Drag Race and the wildly popular Sock Puppet Theatre Presents.

The genre conventions are becoming bigger and bigger every day.  We are attempting to bring the work of queer content in the genres to the masses as well as specifically the gay community.  

As you can imagine it is hard for us to approach guests and agents as our requirements for our guest list is they are out BGLTI talents in the industry of sci fi, fantasy, horror, etc. Or allies that produce queer content in the genres. For example some of our authors that come are straight allies that write gay sci fi romance. 

And of course any talents that have a track record of supporting BGLTI rights and groups like the NOH8 campaign.

We run primarily as a Relaxicon.  Meaning we have programming and guests but we try to foster a feel of a great relaxed party and event.
