About the event

Objective – Opa Gala Awards’ objective is to recognize the annual achievements of the artists who excel in the performing arts and the distinguished Haitian leaders and business owners who are dedicated to the continuous development of our community.

Mission – Opa Gala Awards’ mission is to conserve and promote Haiti’s arts and culture throughout the world. To share with the world the rich culture of Haiti and to erase the commonly held misconceptions through education.

History – Opa Gala Awards’ was envisioned in 2006 after OpaMusic.com (Opa) was launched. Opa a Haitian American entertainment web site that focuses on Haitian arts culture and heritage including lists of bands and artists’ bios, Haiti news, music news, interviews, event reviews, documentaries, culinary, fashion, and much more. Originally named OpaMizik.com; Opa has become one of the leading sources for anything pertaining to Haitian music, entertainment and culture.
