The Ontario Universities Competition for Hip-Hop (O.U.C.H.) is an annual non-profit hip-hop dance competition that is open to university and college students in Ontario. Founded in 2003 by Raymond Mendoza, a student from the University of Waterloo, O.U.C.H. seeks to establish friendly competition amongst post-secondary students to promote the exciting, growing, and influential culture of hip-hop. This competition also brings together various talents from across the province and provides participating students, many of whom are not pursuing careers in dance, the opportunity to showcase their skills while still maintaining and prioritizing their post-secondary education.
O.U.C.H. is a student-run event that continues to grow and develop exponentially every year. There are not many opportunities for students to experience the thrill and rewards of public performance and O.U.C.H. exists to change that.
