Oba & Oji Convention Kickoff Party,

Austin, Texas, United States Austin, Texas, United States

  • About the event

This is an event that started in 2021 as a hangout with friends that connected online through a love of anime, videogames, and other pop culture before the start of DreamCon, an afro-centric "nerd" event that includes some of the biggest content creators in the space of anime, videogames, and comedy.

Our first event was a major success with all those that attended begging us to do it again at the next DreamCon. We did, with a larger space, more food, more drinks. Party was a huge success again, said to be one of the best things that happened the whole convention...so...we did it again the next year.

In 2023, the venue was bigger, and with it so was the crowd. Some of the larger influencers in the "black nerd space" were present such as KingVader and Caleb City. The attendance in all was an estimated 300 people that partied, coversated, danced and sang along with karaoke tracks.

We were able to pull these off with our persoanl finances and was able to offer this experience for free and we would like to continue to do so. In order to do that and continue on the path of growth that we have seen we need your help.

We want to provide a fun and relaxed setting for black content creators the week of DreamCon. An experience where they are just themselves enjoying what we all enjoy. We want them to be able to be their authentic selves without the worry of keeping up apperances or gaudy fan interactions. We have been able to provide such a space so far and want to continue to do so.

    Why should you sponsor?

Why should your brand be a part of this unique event? Here are just a few reasons:

    1. Targeted Exposure: Gain direct access to a diverse group of content creators, including influencers, YouTubers, bloggers, photographers, and more. Showcase your products or services to an engaged audience eager to discover new opportunities and collaborations.

    2. Brand Recognition: Position your brand as a supporter of creativity and innovation within the content creation community. Your logo will be prominently featured on all event materials, including promotional campaigns, event signage, and digital platforms, ensuring maximum visibility among attendees and online audiences.

    3. Visibility and Brand Alignment: Align your brand with a meaningful cause that resonates with your values and mission. Your logo will be prominently featured on all event materials, including promotional campaigns, event signage, and digital platforms, allowing you to reach a diverse audience of content creators, industry professionals, and supporters.

    Malcolm Stewart

I am a small content creator, in partnership with my younger sister. My sister has a small but significant online network including the likes of Caleb City, Kimmi D, and their network. We are both doing this event for the people that attend. Being hospitible is a goal for both of us and that will improve the value of the experience which will improve the value of the network and relationships.
