About the event
Shooting to popularity, the ‘sevens’ format of rugby (only 7 players a side/7
minutes a half) was recently included as an official Olympic sport, set to debut
in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The New York Rugby Sevens Tournament
Since 1959 the New York Rugby Sevens Tournament has been the crown jewel
of all the Club’s operational, commercial and fundraising events. Held the
Saturday after Thanksgiving, the annual event is the one of the largest and is the longest running
sevens tournament in the United States.
