About the event

Night It Up! Night Market is a 3-day event that is held each July at the Markham Civic Center, attracting over 130,000 patrons. This fundraising event features a large variety of Asian food, as well as live music and entertainment. For the past 16 years, we have partnered with multiple charities within our community, raising over $123,000 for various initiatives, which greatly help this organization in our goal of raising awareness, deepening commitment, and creating an impact for the specified cause. Proceeds from this year will be going to WE​ Charity​, a movement working towards a more caring and compassionate world.

Brought to you by Power-Unit Youth Organization, a non-profit organization that promotes youth development through philanthropy, this three-day outdoor cultural and food festival is one of the many opportunities that we provide for youth. We believe in empowering today’s youth in the path to becoming tomorrow’s leaders, by creating unforgettable, skill-building experiences, all while helping the community. In addition to the festivities, proceeds from our 2018 event will go to WE Charity, a movement working towards a more compassionate world as an international, youth-focused charity. Zoe Chiu

I am Zoe Chiu, the Sponsorship Director for Power Unit Youth Organization. I was previously the Associate Sponsorship Director, Sales Representative, and Communications Team Member. I first joined PUYO two years ago as an opportunity to give back to my community and to add something new to my resume. As a shy teenager who was learning to transition into university, this organization has offered me a chance to step out of my comfort zone and take on challenges that have helped me develop skills that will be beneficial throughout my lifetime.

I am currently a third-year student at the University of Western Ontario studying Media, Information and Technoculture with a minor in Psychology.
