About the event
Newroz is the Kurdish New Year. It marks the first day of spring and is celebrated by people from diverse ethnic communities and religious backgrounds for thousands of years.This year Newroz celebration has a special meaning for Syrian Kurds as they have defeated terrorist group ISIS in the north of Syria. However this was not priceless and thousands of Syrian Kurds fled the town of Kobane across the Turkish borders. They are still living in difficult conditions and most of them do not have homes to go back to.The Syrian Kurdish community in the UK has decided to celebrate Newroz this year in the honor of those people who lost their lives while fighting terrorism. We are also hoping to collect donations during the celebration to send to the Kurds' refugee camps on the Turkish border. The celebration is being held on March 20th from 6 to 11 pm and there will be posters advertising for this event. We would appreciate your kind support and sponsorship for this celebration.
