  • About the event

The National Conference of Campus Emergency Responders is an opportunity for first aid teams from Universities across Canada to gather and enhance their first aid knowledge. This includes a speaker series and various workshops to build new skills that are important for a first responder to have, such as cultural sensitivity, American Sign Language, and crisis response training. The speaker series is meant to inspire and motivate responders to be the best they can be. Hearing from inspiring individuals also reminds attendees why they are working in a patient care related field, and the impact that they can someday make in the career’s they choose. There will also be a tabling fair during the conference, to allow sponsors and first aid suppliers to interact with the attendees over lunch. The last segment of the conference is a skills competition, where all of the teams compete and demonstrate their first aid skills and techniques.

    Why should you sponsor?

The McGill Student Response Team has been serving the McGill Community with dedication, pride, and compassion for over 20 years, and through improving the tools our responders have access to, we are able to translate this into an improved service for McGill students that achieves the high standard of care MSERT is honoured to provide. The National Conference of Campus Emergency Responders is an extension of this initiative across all of Canada. Through this conference, we aim to connect campus emergency response teams from all over Canada to enhance their knowledge on first aid by establishing an environment of collaboration and education.

A potential sponsor is guaranteed that their resources will contribute to a purely non-profit event. NCCER is organized for the purpose of improving free-access first aid healthcare of university students by ensuring the proper training of the responders available on scene. The money raised from this initiative will go towards various things to ensure that this goal is met. For example, money will be allocated towards booking rooms on campus for guest lectures, workshops, networking events, providing compensation for invited speakers, and buying competition props so that simulations are as realistic as possible.

Looking past the humanitarian benefits of supporting our cause, through this 3-day conference, we offer sponsors substantial visibility to a national audience of young, diverse, intelligent students. With an annual turnout of over 200 university students specializing in Arts, Science, Management, and Nursing, in addition to guest paramedics, doctors, and entrepreneurs in the first aid field, we host a huge variety of potential customers. We offer all guests gift bags containing business cards, gift tokens, and T-shirts with the logos of our sponsors. Throughout the 3-day conference, we offer exposure to local restaurants by providing complimentary breakfast and lunch to all participants, speakers, and volunteers. In fact, a whole evening of the conference is devoted to a banquet event with featured speakers and a complimentary buffet feast. On the second day of the conference we will host a tabling fair, which is an opportunity for sponsors to interact with conference participants and promote their products. For the duration of the conference, we will be holding a silent auction for guests to cast their vote in a pool to win vouchers and tickets. Last but not least, we will have an opening and closing ceremony in which our spokesperson will express their gratitude for the major sponsors and donors that made this event possible.

    Neil Recio

My name is Neil and I am a member of the McGill Student Emergency Response Team. This year, I was selected to be one of the fundraising coordinators for the National Conference of Campus Emergency Responders. As the name implies, my role is to find sponsors in the Montreal community that are interested in our cause, and would passionately support us. I am open to communication, and want to tailor your sponsorship in a way that best meets your needs as a contributor to our cause. I am always available to talk via phone, email, or in person, and can’t wait to hear from you!
