About the event
We are from Kizomba D'Santos India™, the Indian chapter of the popular dance school Kizomba Canada™ which is based in Montreal, Canada and houses of some of the best Kizomba and Afro dancers of the world.
As a dance school, we organize weekly dance classes of Kizomba and Afro-House, workshops and social nights around Delhi/NCR. Our social nights are quite popular among the dance community of Delhi/NCR and are organized in some of the best clubs around.
We are organizing the third edition of our flagship event – Muxima Kizomba Festival 2020, which has now become the most popular Dance Festival of Northern India. The main theme of the Dance Festival is Kizomba – a music and dance of same name, originating in Angola and fast spreading among the world dancing community like a wildfire. While Kizomba is mostly a partner dance, we would also be focusing on other Afro-House music and dances during the Festival to attract a wider audience.
To give a brief background, we have organized two successful editions of MKF in 2018 and 2019. The First (pilot) Edition of MKF was held on 12th-14th October, 2018 in South Delhi which was attended by over 100 dancers from all over the country. International artists like Eliza Sala (Angola/NL), Yami & Marta (Italy) along with various Indian artists.
For MKF 2019, we went overboard by inviting more than 10 international artists, including Manuel & Flavie (Canada), Eliza Sala & Dino D’Cruz (NL), Stones and Sabine (Germany) and various other international and national artists. We had almost 200 participants and this time the venue was the grand property of Lemon Tree and Red Fox Hotels, Gurgaon, Delhi NCR.
Looking at the grand success and amazing response of our first two editions, we have now announced the Third edition of what was the first pure Kizomba Festival of the country and is already on its way to become the biggest Kizomba Festival of India (in terms of artists, workshops and participants). The dates of the Festival are 20th-23rd August, 2020 and we have already been able to secure confirmation from about 10 international artists and DJs for the same. These artists would be coming from Canada, Australia, Angola, France & Germany, of which the star artist for the upcoming edition would be Manuel Dos Santos (and his team), founder of Kizomba Canada and popularly known as Dr. Kizomba. We already are receiving several queries from dance enthusiasts across the world (specially from Asian countries) and our early bird passes (30) were sold out within first fortnight of the announcement.
We are targeting at least 275-300 participants for the entire Festival (i.e. all workshops and parties) and at least 80-100 more who would be coming to attend either particular workshops or specific parties. Apart from the amazing workshops and parties, we shall be having various dancers, both from beginner to advanced levels,as well as our artists performing shows and showcasing their amazing talent live on stage.
In view of the above, we would be glad if you could give us an opportunity to meet you in person or have a call with you and discuss more about the above proposal. We would be glad to explain you more about the format of the Festival, the dance form or give you any information that you may require.
Thank you for your time and we hope to hear from you soon,
B Prashant Kumar,
Partnership & Sponsorship Director
Kizomba D'Santos India
Why should you sponsor?
Because it has been tested and proven that participation in socio-cultural activities, especially like partner dance forms akin to Kizomba helps develop thinking skills, builds self-esteem, improves resilience and most importantly, allows us as humans to keep connected to each other and reduce stress. People who learn and dance Kizomba and enjoy the music have shown visible improvements in maintaining cognitive functioning of brains and recommend it strongly as the magical relief to the stressful jobs and taxing working conditions that they otherwise live in. The lead and follow dancing that is an essential part of Kizomba improves the moment-to-moment decision making abilities and the continuous focus on dancing on steps together with your partner, following the music, helps stimulate the mind and our creative juices.
So when we hear “Health is wealth” in our daily lives and also various ways of achieving it, we as the Kizomba D’Santos India team, where everyone comes from different backgrounds and work in different industries (like school teachers, mechanical engineers, graphic designers, lawyers, doctors and other such professions) are trying to contribute our time and efforts towards a common objective, of promoting and developing the Kizomba partner dance culture among the community, as a medicine to stressful lives that we live.
What will you get?
