About the event
Halifax Humane Society invites you to join our 12th Annual Mutt Strutt to be held on
April 23, 2022. This will be the only day that dogs are allowed on the World’s Most Famous Beach. Join us, Rain or Shine.
The Mutt Strutt draws almost 1,000 participants and their strutting mutts with hopes of bringing awareness to animal suffering and raising critical funds to help provide animals a New Leash on Life!
The event begins at the Bandshell for registration, a Welcome & flag ceremony, music, and the Mutt Marketplace. Participants and their furry friends then move to the beach for a friendly, untimed, 5k course, or just playtime!
Mutt Strutt is a significant fundraiser helping us to serve over 25,000 abused, abandoned, and neglected animals across Volusia County. Charity Navigator has awarded Halifax Humane Society with the highest rating, Four Stars, for financial health, accountability, and transparency when compared to other non-profits. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to support our life-saving work.

Why should you sponsor?
Halifax Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that does not receive government funding or financial support from any local or national organizations. It is because of sponsor support, private donations, special events (like the Mutt Strutt), adoption fees, and other fundraising efforts that we are able to serve over 25,000 animals annually.

Every year we count on the generosity of our donors, community, and businesses to help support our lifesaving programs and services. Every dollar is carefully spent to help our furry friends in need! HHS has a Four-Star Charity Navigator rating, the highest rating a non-profit can receive, with 83 cents of every dollar going directly to the care of our animals.
