About the event

Chamber of Indian Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (CIMSME), a key industry Chamber dedicated to the wellbeing of MSME sector, presents the Forth Edition of its flagship MSME Banking & NBFC Excellence Awards 2016 for BANKs/NBFCs. A tribute to the Financial Sector for their exceptional support and assistance extended to MSME sector in the wake of challenging economic conditions. The response to the Previous Editions was overwhelming. More than 20 Banks/NBFCs participated in the Award ceremony. Sh. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of State for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, Sh. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Dr. Sambit Patra, National Spokesperson BJP in a glittering ceremony held on 18th January, 2016 gave away the Awards to the winning Banks/NBFCs. The contribution of Banks/NBFCs to the growth and development of MSME sector is commendable and rejuvenating in the last few decades, showcasing their increased social responsibility. Banks and NBFCs continued concern to reach out for meeting credit needs of the small business and enterprise is laudable. They have proved a major catalyst for economic empowerment. Such good work needs to be appreciated as to motivate others to follow. The new government has also targeted MSME sector for overall improved growth. Despite challenges, performance of Banks/NBFCs in this segment is huge and perceptible.     

CIMSME through its proactive approach frequently interacts with the entrepreneurs, various Banks, Financial Institutions, concerned Ministries and other related organizations in addressing their challenges to seek possible solutions. CIMSME is fully dedicated to promote & protect the trade and commerce of MSMEs in India. Towards this end, it organizes Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and Training Programs and other trade promotional activities to educate, empower & create awareness amongst the MSMEs through sharing of experience and expertise. Several suggestions, recommendations made by the Chamber have been appreciated and accepted by the policy makers to improve the condition of MSME sector. 

CIMSME has also supported “MSME Helpline” portal www.msmehelpline.com as well as Mobile App. MSME Helpline, a Strong Tool in the Hands of MSMEs to find solutions of all challenges faced by this important sector. MSME Helpline is a SINGLE WINDOW SERVICE PROVIDER AND TECHNOLOGY ENABLED COMPANY to all MSMEs which is Assisting in getting all types of Registrations, Assisting in Marketing, Assisting in Compliance, Assisting in loans, Assisting in Credit Rating etc. The services are provided to the MSMEs at their door step. MSME Helpline has more than 1.25 lacs registered members. MSME Helpline Mobile App is available for download from Google Play Store.

CIMSME invites Banks/NBFCs to participate in this Awards Exercise to display their good work in the MSME segment, create an ecosystem of positive contribution and an inspiration for others to follow suit. We are pleased to attach with this request an Application–cum-Nomination form which is simple and easy to fill. It broadly contains information relating to various parameters of MSME and status of various targets fixed by the Authorities/ regulators.

The gala ceremony for MSME Banking & NBFC Excellence Awards-2016, to felicitate the Award winning Banks/NBFCs is proposed to be organized in the month of December, 2016. The details will be advised separately. The Awards will be distributed in the presence of a galaxy of prominent industry captains and Government Officials.

Chamber of Indian Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (CIMSME) has been strong voice of MSME sector, assisting them to move to the next level and spearheading their issues and concerns with the authorities. Nevertheless despite covering substantial areas, challenges still hound them. The commendable work of the Commercial Banks in supporting and rejuvenating the MSME sector is a well known story. Such good work must be showcased to motivate others to follow suit and enhance performance of MSME sector. This is where the inspiration came from to institute MSME Banking Excellence Awards by CIMSME in 2013. The first awards were organized in January, 2014 with overwhelming response and thereafter.

Continuing with our Journey we are in now organizing the 2016 Edition of these Awards to be held the first month of 2017.

It has been the one of its kind in the industry and is accepted as a bench mark event. The last Awards event was organized on 18^th Jan., 2016- MSME Banking Excellence Awards 2015 in the presence of several key government officials, CMDs of important Banks and MSME entrepreneurs of repute.  

Sh. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of State for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy and Sh. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs graced the “MSME Banking Excellence Awards- 2015”. More than twenty Banks/FIs/NBFCs participated in the Event. The Awards ceremony was attended by Heads of the Banks, Government Dignitaries and Various Industry Captions/ MSMEs. The event was attended by more than 600 delegates.
