About the event
The Mavericks Team
Consists of five adventurers with the spirit to undertake a unique challenge never before attempted and raise money for a charitable cause. Three of the founding members currently hold the world record for the fastest Atlantic Ocean crossing in a rowing boat as ateam of five!
The Goal
- Raise £50,000.00 for charity.
- Set two World Records
The Records
- Fastest time to row the length of the navigable Mississippi River (1,800 miles) continuously and unsupported by a team.
- Longest distance rowed by a team in 24 hours.
The Charity
Plastic Oceans UK have been experts on plastic pollution for a decade, starting with award-winning documentary A Plastic Ocean and has ignited mass consumer awareness. The charity's programmes engage with education, scientific research
and sustainability with business.Why should you sponsor?
Brand Visibility
The surface of our boat's hull will be dedicated to our sponsors and charity. Each sponsor will be awarded an area on the hull depending on contributions.
All sponsors will be featured on our website with as link and description.Media
We will have a dedicated phone for live streams on social media channels
during the journey. We will be putting most of our efforts into the Facebook and
Instagram platform where we are actively growing our following.
We will be undertaking live interviews over phone and video with the local news
channels as we go down the Mississippi.Corporate Events
We would love to support any corporate events to speak and share stories throughout our journey. These can be be arranged before or after the challenge. Each Maverick is an experienced speaker and participated in many corporate events to share stories of leadership, advserity, adaptablity and team work.
