The 2018 Miami Downtown Jazz Festival (MDJF) is 3 days of live music featuring a Miami blend of sounds – jazz, Latin jazz with a touch of blues, funk, & steel pan.
MDJF celebrated its inaugural run in 2017, initiated by WDNA Radio as part of the station’s mission to spread the experience of jazz and quality music throughout our community.
We aim for MDJF to reflect the rich roots and innovative developments of this incredible art form called jazz, as well as, the diverse cultural make up of Miami.
We aspire for the festival to be a part of growing and strengthening the Miami jazz scene, making the city a place where people come to listen to great music, and a place where musicians can play original and intelligent music for eager audiences. MDJF also highlights the downtown area of our city as a beautiful, walkable area with a burgeoning arts scene.
The Miami Downtown Jazz Festival is designed to equal the top international jazz festivals. Miami will be prime destination for Jazz in April and will become renowned as a premiere jazz destination.
