About the event
Mental Health in Primary Care: The Gateway to Healing, is a conference for social workers, working in Family Health Teams across Ontario.
Mental health, and the development of effective mental health programs, is a significant concern in today's world. Social workers play an important role in the treatment of mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression. Our conference will serve as an educational space, for social workers to gather together to share ideas, develop new mental health programs, and continue to improve access to effective mental health care.
Primary care is the front door to mental health care. Positive mental health outcomes are based on early intervention. This conference will help to improve the quality and effectiveness of our early interventions.
Past conferences have presented on trauma interventions, working with particular populations such as children and youth or seniors, suicide assessment and intervention, and concurrent disorders.
The conference is scheduled for May 26th and 27th, 2016, at the Carlton Holiday Inn.
