Malvern Rocks,

Great Malvern, England, United Kingdom Great Malvern, England, United Kingdom

  • About the event

Making Malvern the destination for music.

Malvern Rocks is a music and arts festival based in Malvern that takes place over three days and features an eclectic range of musical performances in bars, pubs, clubs, public spaces and pop-up venues around the town.

Our aim has always been to promote live music, to nurture new talent and to capitalise on our vibrant music scene. We wanted to make Malvern a destination for music in the way that Hay on Wye is for literature, Wenlock is for poetry or Upton is for Jazz.

We have had great publicity with BBC Hereford & Worcester doing live broadcasts from the festival and inviting us in for promotional interviews.

It’s difficult to estimate how many people have attended Malvern Rocks events but with reports of full venues (several have actually run out of beer during the festival) we estimate our attendance to be (conservatively) between 2 and 3 thousand people.

     Our mission statement

Malvern Rocks is an apolitical, music and arts festival that endeavours to bring a varied and diverse programme of events to Malvern. The purpose is to provide an outlet for the immense musical and artistic talent we have in the town and surrounding area while helping to boost the local economy.

    Why should you sponsor?

Events such as Malvern Rocks can provide companies with incredible opportunities to market their brand, reach new customers, improve their public perception and increase their sales. You can provide our audiences with a unique experience that fosters trust and credibility.

Sponsorships can provide a great source of new material for a company's content strategy. By promoting your involvement in an event or activity, you can drive traffic from the event and increase your engagement. A great way to do this is by creating content themes and hashtags. Additionally, you can connect with Malvern Rocks on social media and find new target audiences.

You can grow your company's positive reputation through branded event marketing. When a company sponsors events or organisations, people assume that it is reputable and reliable. As a result, consumers have a higher likelihood of purchasing services or products associated with an event such as Malvern Rocks.

Sponsorships increase brand recognition before, during and after the actual event by giving your company exposure to new audiences. This happens through mentions in the press or social media and event advertising such as radio spots, signs and featured ads. You can take advantage of this exposure by offering attendees free branded materials through promotional giveaways.

Finally, when you sponsor Malvern Rocks, you automatically gain an advantage over your absent direct competitors.

    Ralph Tittley

Apart from Malvern Rocks, Ralph was, for many years, a director and treasurer of Malvern Fringe.

Malvern Fringe Festival was, at one time, larger than Edinburgh’s Fringe. Founded as a reaction to the more traditional Malvern Festival, the Fringe ran for over 36 years, putting on music, spoken word and art-based events. Including week-long festivals, and the annual Malvern May Day Festival and Parade.

He helped organise Malvern May Days in Priory Park as well as putting on gigs, stand-up comedy evenings and a film festival. He has co-organised many local music festivals including The Pyramid Party, Godzilla’s and Cwm Fest.

Having worked in tv and video production since the early ‘80s, Ralph has been a video editor, cameraman, director and producer on tv shows as diverse as Gardeners’ World, Pebble Mill at One and Most Haunted Live. He has worked on award winning productions including a documentary about dinosaurs that won an Emmy for Best post-production and he also picked up a Royal Television Society On-Screen Excellence Award for a ‘Butt Ugly Martians’ DVD that he produced.

Always a keen musician and playing in several local bands, Ralph opened Funky Bunker, a rehearsal room and recording studio in West Malvern which has served the town’s musical community since 2015. The Funky Bunker provided PA and operators along with artist & stage management for the Floating Globe stage at Lakefest 2022.

Ralph is currently co-director of Brightest Bulb Ltd, a Malvern based training company that teaches people to produce videos using their smartphones. Their clients include BMW, Morrisons, Adidas, Barclays Bank, HM Government and Porsche.

It turns out that the skills required to run a festival are very similar to those needed as a tv producer.
